My Bloody Valentine at Roseland Ballroom

We aren't much into blogging, so it is quite a rarity for us to post an entry. That being said, the My Bloody Valentine show on Monday at Roseland Ballroom was life changing and deserves the text. The soul purpose of this post is to encourage anyone that can attend any of the few remaining shows to go. Skip work, skip school, spend money, drive for hours - get to the show. It is well worth it.

My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" has been an enormous influence on both me and Koshari. I think that between Bryan and I, we have owned at least 8 copies of the release - frequently giving them out to friends and bandmates. I, unfortunately missed catching their tour in the early 90s, and Bryan has always spoke about how it effected him. Still after years of talking about it, I didn't fully understand until Monday.

I've tried using many different words to recount the event. Suffice it to say, words are too "flat" to describe it. There is something so beautiful, yet frightening about the actual experience. The sonic vibrations are poetic and disorienting. It is truly melodic and three dimensional. They shatter all typical standards, and should inspire others to do the same.
Again, if you can make any of the remaining shows, do. And if if you recently saw them, enjoy how it changes your perception of music and art.

Artomatic and the great Dan Ralston

We are pleased to be playing on opening night of Artomatic on Friday, May 9 at 7:30 Sharp. This year's Artomatic will be held at Capitol Plaza I, 1200 First Street, NE Washington, DC 20002 (Metro stop: Red Line, New York Ave., M Street exit).

What is even more exciting is that the great Dan Ralston has returned to Koshari. We cannot wait to play a show with him again!

And, you never know, maybe we will have some copies of a single off the new release to distribute that night... ah, sometimes you really never know..

Galaxy Hut This Saturday - 2/2/08

We are playing the Galaxy Hut in Arlington, VA (by Clarendon Metro) this Saturday 2/2/08 with The Hailing. We go on at around 9:15 p.m. - Should be a fun set.

And thanks to all who listened and emailed about the WRYR radio show - Local Low Down with Andy Och. We had a great time doing the show and encourage everyone to continue supporting it.

Thanks to everyone that came out for the Iota show last Friday. What a great crowd!
We really had a good time.
And, we (Koshari) will be playing a radio show this Sunday (1/27/08) at 9 p.m.

We will be doing a live set and then playing some recorded tunes - maybe even some rough recordings from our upcoming release.

Happy 2008!
